Products - Accommodation

Within this section of the Online Help Guide, learn how to:

- To change the description, settings, associated Rooms or image of a Product

You will need to consider the following details when creating new Products:

Name: The name or term used to describe the Product to the consumer. This name will be displayed to customers for selection when they are booking online.

Code: The shortened version of the name applied to the Product for internal purposes. Products will be listed in your Diary screen (diary)and your online booking pages in alphabetical order based on the code name. Therefore, it is recommended that the product you wish to appear first (and use most often) is allocated the letter "A" or "1" as the first character of its code name and so on for remaining Products.

Rooms: The individual units that can be sold as part of a particular Product.

Description: What you want customers to know about the Product and what will motivate them to buy. This is the description that the customer will view when booking via online channels including your own website. Type in the description, or copy and paste from your website or other electronic source. You should ensure your description contains at least the following information:

View Products

  1. Click on the Manage tab.

  2. Click on Products and Rates in the left hand menu. The Product Overview screen will be displayed. If you have previously created any Products, a summary will be shown.

  3. Click on the Product Name to display Product Configuration details.

  4. This screen details all this Product's associated  Rooms and Combined Rooms.

Set Check-in/Check-out Times

  1. Click on the Manage tab.

  2. Click on Products and Rates in the left hand menu.

  3. Within the Accommodation or Non Serviced Accommodation section of the Product Overview screen, enter the Check in and Check-out Times.

  4. Click Save.

Create New Products

If you have not yet defined the Rooms (inventory items) that will be associated with this new Product, please do this first before proceeding with creating the new Product. Click on one of the following links for instructions:  Set Up Standard Rooms and/or Set Up Combined Rooms. Once all Rooms are created, proceed as follows:

  1. Click on the Manage tab.

  2. Click on Products and Rates>Product Overview  in the left hand menu. If you have previously created any Products, a summary will be shown.

  3. Scroll down and at bottom right, click on the "Add New Product" button and the Product Configuration screen will open. The Product Configuration screen has five parts: Product Description, Settings, Associated Rooms, Supplements and Images.

  4. Enter the Product Description

  1. Occupancy

  1. Associate Rooms (or Combined Rooms) with the Product

If you have not yet defined the Rooms (inventory items) that will be associated with this new Product, please click on one of the following links to do so before proceeding with the set up of your new product:  Set Up Standard Rooms and/or Set Up Combined Rooms.

To add more Products, start again from step 1. Your new Product cannot be booked until you have defined some prices.

To define prices for your Products, go to Daily Rate Manager and/or Special Offers.

Edit Products

  1. In Manage, click on Products and Rates>Product Overview from the left hand menu. A summary of previously created Products will be shown in the Accommodation Section on the right.

  2. Click on the Product to be modified.

  3. Make the necessary changes to the Product details, Settings, Rooms or Image.

  4. Click on the " Save" button.

Change Check-in or Check-out Time

  1. Click on the Manage tab.

  2. Click on Products and Rates in the left hand menu.

  3. Within the Accommodation or Non Serviced Accommodation section of the Product Overview screen, enter the new Check in and Check-out Times.

  4. Click Save.

Change Classification of your Products

  1. In Manage, click on Products and Rates  from the left hand menu. The Previously defined Classification will be shown in the Accommodation and/or Non Serviced Accommodation Section.

  2. Select the new Classification from the drop-down box.

  3. Click Save.

Delete Products

  1. In Manage, click on Products and Rates from the left hand menu. In the Product Overview scren, a summary of previously created Products will be shown.

  2. Click on (Delete) beside the Product to be removed from the system.

  3. Note the warning and confirm deletion. (If you have future bookings for this Product, they will need to be moved or cancelled before you can delete the Product).
