- To change the description, settings or image of a Product

- To change the pricing of a Product

- To remove associated Inventory from a Product

Create New Products

  1. Click on the Manage tab.

  2. Click on Inventory Setup in the left hand menu. If you have previously created any Products, a summary will be shown.

  3. Click on the " Add New Product" button and the Product Configuration screen will open.

The Product Configuration screen has five parts: Product Description, Settings, Rate Plans, Associated Inventory and Images.

Enter the product description

1. Enter a Name for the product, such as "Double Ensuite". This name will be displayed to customers booking online.

2. Enter a Code.  It is recommended you use 01., 02. etc. This determines the order your rooms will appear.

3. Select the Type of Product Type: Normal, Special Offer or Package.

4. Enter a Description. This is the description that the customer will view when booking via online channels and your own website. Type in the description, or copy and paste from your website or other electronic source.

Enter the product settings

1. Select Yes or No for "Is tax exempt". Select Yes if you are not VAT registered and do not want VAT automatically calculated for the prices entered for this Product.

2. Select Yes or No for "Daily Service Required". If a daily clean or service is included in the price of this Product, select Yes; the Product booked will then appear on the Cleaning Report under "Daily Service".

3. Enter an amount into "Maximum Occupancy". This is the maximum number of people that this Product can accommodate, e.g. 2 in a Double Ensuite.

Enter Rate Plans

1. Rate Plans can be added in the next section of the screen.  This is where you enter your prices.  See Rate Plans for step-by-step instructions on setting up Rate Plans.

Associate inventory with the product

1. To identify which rooms can be sold as this product, click on " Add Inventory"

2. Click Search and then tick the boxes adjacent to the rooms that are part of this product.

3. Click " Save" and you will be returned to the product configuration page.

Add images of the product

1. At least one image of the product should be displayed to the customer.  Click on the "Browse" button beside Picture 1 or Picture 2 and select a jpeg file from your hard drive. Note that the images must be at least 320x240 pixels in size.

2. Click on the " Save" button.

To add more products, start again from step 1.

Edit Products

To edit the basic Product information, e.g. name, description, product image, settings (e.g. Online booking status):

 1. Click on the Manage tab

 2. Click on Inventory Setup in the menu on the left.  A summary of previously created Products will be shown.

 3. Click on the " Edit" button beside the Product to be modified.

 4. Make the necessary changes to the Product details, settings or image.

 5. Click on the " Save" button.

 

To edit the pricing of a Product:

You can edit either the season price or just a particular day within a season

  1. To edit the season price, you need to edit the Rate Plan

  2. To edit the price of a particular day, you need to edit the Daily Rate Manager

 

To remove associated Inventory.

NOTE: It is not possible to remove inventory that has forward bookings in the system. You will need to first move the bookings to another room, before proceeding.

  1. Click on the Manage tab

  2. Click on Inventory Setup in the menu on the left

  3. Click on the name of the Product in question

  4. At the bottom of the screen, there will be a section titled Associated Inventory

  5. Click on the " Delete" button adjacent to the Inventory to be removed from this Product

  6. Read the Warning message and confirm the action and click on "Yes".

 

Delete Products

  1. Click on theManage tab

  2. Click on Inventory Setup in the menu on the left. A summary of previously created Products will be shown.

  3. Click on the " Delete" button adjacent to the Product to be removed from the system.

  4. Note the warning and confirm deletion.
